BHC students pledge to complete their education More than 100 Black Hawk College students recently pledged to complete their certificate or degree before leaving school to transfer or enter the job market. The pledge-signing was organized by the Quad-Cities Campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Phi Theta Kappa members are serving as the student arm of the Community College Completion Corps, a national education initiative.

BHC Community Band Winter Concert Dec. 4

The community is invited to the Black Hawk College Community Band Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Musical selections will include concert band marches, an 18th century toccata and fugue, "La Bamba De Vera Cruz," A Christmas medley and "Variations on America" by Charles Ives.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served afterward.

The concert will be at the Quad-Cities Campus, 6600 34th Ave., Moline, in Building 4 on the second floor in the Hawk's Nest.

Certified Quality Technician exam prep course begins Dec. 10

Black Hawk College is offering a Certified Quality Technician course beginning Dec. 10.

Designed for paraprofessionals working in a quality-focused environment, this class can serve as preparation for ASQ's Certified Quality Technician certification exam.

The class will meet from 6-9 p.m. Mondays, Dec. 10 to Feb. 25 (no class Dec. 24-31), at the college's Quad-Cities Campus in Moline. Cost is $675, which includes learning materials from the Indiana Quality Council.
