Schilling closes offices preparing to hand power to Bustos

U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, has closed his offices as he prepares to hand power over to Congresswoman-elect Cheri Bustos.

Rep. Schilling's district office at 3000 41st St., Suite 2, Moline, closed last Friday, as did his office in Washington, D.C. Rep. Schilling also closed offices in Galesburg, Canton and Rock Falls.

Ms. Bustos, a Democrat, officially will take office on Jan. 3. Her staff has been closely working with Rep. Schilling to ensure a smooth transition, a spokeswoman for Rep. Schilling said.

Constituents of the 17th Congressional District, with questions on federal issues, can contact the offices of U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., or U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill.
