Augustana College junior linebacker Erik Westerberg was named to the Capital One Academic All-America team for the second consecutive season. He was a second-team selection on the elite team that combines academic excellence and athletic achievement, two things that Westerberg has excelled at throughout his Viking career.

Westerberg was named the CCIW "Defensive Player of the Year" and was a first-team All-CCIW selection for the second year in a row. He led the CCIW in total tackles for the second straight season, finishing with 118 (66 solo and 52 assists). He ranks 14th in the nation in NCAA Division III in both solo and total stops. His 14 tackles for loss also led the Vikings, while his four sacks were tied for second on the team.

Westerburg, a math and secondary education major, carries a 3.87 GPA.
