Silvis School Board members on Wednesday night gave unanimous approval to the construction of a shed for track and field events at Northeast Junior High School.

The 14-by-24-foot shed is expected to cost between $20,000 and $30,000. When completed, it will hold track equipment such as hurdles and starting blocks, superintendent Ray Bergles said.

The board met in a special session Wednesday to vote on the project.
