CAMBRIDGE -- Henry Count Circuit Court Judge Charles "Casey" Stengel on Monday found probable cause to believe a Pennsylvania couple committed a drug-related felony.
Cody Becker, 21, and Kallie Davis, 20, of Hermitage, are charged with Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance. They also face misdemeanor charges of possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two remained in jail on Monday afternoon on $15,000 bond. Their next hearing date was set for Jan. 17.
Geneseo Police Officer Jamisson Weisser testified at a Monday preliminary hearing that he stopped a 2004 Chevy Cavalier on Interstate 80 for going 71 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone near Geneseo. He said the driver, Mr. Becker, said he did not have a driver's license but was suspended through Pennsylvania.
Officer Weisser said he detected alcohol on Ms. Davis' breath. He said he asked Mr. Becker to step out of the vehicle and, after Geneseo Police Officer Ben Sleaford arrived, Ms. Davis admitted she had been drinking.
The officers began an inventory of the vehicle before towing it and found a half empty Canadian Mist whiskey bottle and suspected cannabis residue.
