A Bettendorf woman was sentenced in federal court on Thursday to serve one year of supervised release, including four months of home confinement, for attempting to extort a cast member of the television show, "19 Kids and Counting."

Theresa Kay Hunt, 49, of Bettendorf, sought to blackmail Discovery Communications Inc., claiming she would release "damaging photos" of the cast member if she wasn't given $10,000, according to a news release for the U.S. District Court for Southern Iowa.

Furthermore, "Hunt emailed pictures of the cast member to anundercover FBI agent and stated that she had more pictures buried in a box at her parent's home," the release states.

Additional information about the case was not available in online court records.

The television show is aired on the TLC network and centers around Michelle and Bob Dugger and their 19 biological children.
