Congresswoman-elect Cheri Bustos, D-East Moline, has hired her former campaign manager as her new chief of staff and a former aide to U.S. Rep. Lane Evans as her district director.

Ms. Bustos, who beat incumbent 17th Congressional District U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, in the Nov. 6 election, will be sworn in next month

Allison Jaslow, who managed Ms. Bustos's election campaign, will be her chief of staff in Washington, D.C. Jerry Lack, who used to work for Rep. Evans, will be her district director.

Ms. Jaslow, an Iraq war veteran from Virginia, has been guiding Ms. Bustos's transition.Mr. Lack lives in East Moline and has been executive director of the Illowa Construction Labor and Management Council for the past five years.

Ms. Bustoswill have three offices in the 17th District and one in Washington, D.C., a statement said.
