Nancy E. Bryant, 60, of rural Geneseo, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Bethel Assembly of God, Rock Island. The Rev. Dan Qualls will officiate. Burial will be in Edford Township, Geneseo. Visitation for Nancy will be 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Geneseo Chapel of Vandemore Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Animal Shelter and the Bethel Assembly of God.
Nancy was born Sept. 17, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of William and Verda (Schantz) Henkel. Nancy was a 1971 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and was united in marriage to Willis J. Bryant May 13, 1973, in Trenton, Iowa. She was a homemaker. Nancy was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God, Rock Island, the International Edsel Club and SunnyBrook R.Ver's Club. She was a farm girl at heart and was active in 4-H as a young girl and enjoyed it greatly. She enjoyed cross stitching, crafting, loved traveling with Willis extensively and loved her dogs Arizona, Phoenix and Dale. She also enjoyed attending the Midwest Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Willis; a daughter and spouse, Rhonda (Ken) Bachman, Lansing Mich.; sons, Jeremy Bryant, Rural Edgar, Wis., Terry (Sherry Morse) Bryant, Moline; grandchildren Morgan and Keegan Bryant, Michael, Sidney and Grant Bachman; sisters, Delores Crossett, New London, Iowa, Marcella (Doug) Loeffler, rural Brighton, Iowa, Beverly (Alan) Reynolds, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brothers David Henkel, Rural Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Richard (Susie) Henkel, Lockridge, Iowa. Nancy was the consummate caretaker for her family right up to the very end. She assured her loved ones that she was in God's hands and not to worry.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Doug Crossett.
