Barbara J. Lerch, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to services. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Barbara was born on Sept. 27, 1931, in Rock Island, the daughter of Maurice and Leota Tanner DeBrackeleire.
She had been employed as a weight station inspector for the state of Illinois.
Barbara was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island, where she attended the LWML and Ladies Society. She also had been a member of Laureate Beta Sigma Psi, bowled on several leagues for many years, enjoyed jazzercise and loved watching NASCAR. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Melody (Gerome) Poole, Rock Island, Marv (Becky) Moneymaker, Santa Maria, Calif., Pernell (Patsy) Lerch, Heavener, Okla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Wilma Peters, Tennessee, Lorraine Inman, Moline, Leona Clevenger, Arkansas, Mary Anne (Art) Hemm, Coal Valley, Maurice DeBrackeleire, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her cats and constant companions, Impy and Pepi.
