A 74-year-old Eldridge man charged with producing child pornography involving a male teenager is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Friday in Federal District Court for Southern Iowa, Davenport.
James Edward Hall was arrested and made an initial appearance in federal court on Wednesday.
Court records indicate that police were notified in December of the alleged illegal activity, believed to have taken place over two years.
Officers searched Mr. Hall's residence and discovered a video of the victim on a home computer, according to records.
If convicted of the charge, Mr. Hall faces between 15 and 30 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and a term of supervised release ranging from five years to live, according to a news release from the U. S. attorney's office.
