Quad City Arts Organizations Join Forces to Teach…Business?
Collaborative Series Will Show Artists How to Survive – and Thrive
(Davenport, Iowa) In an unprecedented collaboration, Quad Cities arts organizations are joining forces to present a series that will provide Quad Cities artists with the opportunity to augment their knowledge of the business side of their craft. The QC Artists Coming Together (ACT)sessions, sponsored by River Music Experience, MidCoast Fine Arts, the Figge Art Museum, Quad City Arts, and the Adler Theatre, will be held February 9, May 4, August 10, and November 9. Each session will highlight a different element of the business side of the arts.
"QC ACT will provide new and unique opportunities for young artists to learn from and interact with established working artists and industry professionals from our diverse arts community. This new program series will not only benefit and serve those directly involved as presenters and participants, but it has the potential to promote interaction and creative development throughout our arts community as a whole." Ellis Kell, RME Director of Programming & Community Outreach
"Artists, actors, and musicians are stereotyped as 'starving for their art.' The professionals involved with QC ACT are proof that it is possible to be a successful working artist. We are fortunate to have so many local creative professionals willing to share their time and talents with other artists. Artists of all ages will benefit from these sessions." Pamela Crouch, Executive Director, MidCoast Fine Arts
The cost of each session for those who pre-register is $60; registration at the door is $70.Attendees can pre-register for all four sessions for a total cost of $200.
