Charles "Butch" Stuebe, 65, of Illinois City, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, as the result of an auto accident.
Cremation will be done with a memorial celebration at noon Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Andalusia Lions Club. Memorials may be made to the family and online condolences may be made at www.hodgsonfuneralhome.com.
Charles was born on Sept. 19, 1947, in Moline, to the Rev. John and Artha Fehrmann Stuebe. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp having served from 1967 to 1972. Charles had been married to his life partner of 30 years, Jackie Woodward, until her passing on April 15, 2008.
As an electrician, Butch worked 14 years for the River City Industrial Park from where he retired on Sept. 19, 2012.
Butch was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to duck hunt, deer hunt and spend time with his friends. He always was willing to help and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his son, Ben Stuebe, Illinois City; sister, Martha "Jo" Muncie, Taylor Ridge; and a brother, James Stuebe, Florida.
