Drew Merideth is fulfilling his life-long goal of playing Division I soccer. The United Township senior midfielder confirmed he will attend Southern Illinois-Edwardsville as a walk-on with the hopes of securing a scholarship down the road.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to play Division I, especially at a school I wanted to play at," Merideth said. "I chose SIUE because I loved the campus and the size of the school, as well as the staff that I met during camps and visits."

As a senior, Merideth helped led the Panthers to the Class 2A sectional title. Merideth tallied a Quad-Cities Metro-leading 29 goals with four assists. He scored 10 postseason goals as UT reached the super-sectional for the first time in 13 years.

Merideth was an Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association All-Sectional and All-Western Big 6 Conference performer. He capped his prep career by being named Boys' Soccer Player of the Year by The Dispatch and The Rock Island Argus.
