College men's basketball
BHC 69, Carl Sandburg 62: Cody Cooley scored a game-high 22 points and Duol Mayot added 20 as the inside threats carried the Braves to the Arrowhead Conference victory. The win moved BHC (10-11, 3-2 Arrowhead) into a second place tie with Sandburg (15-7, 4-2)."Between Cody and Duol, it's very hard for teams to match up with both of them,'' said BHC coach Darren Bizarri.

College womens' basketball
BHC 69, Carl Sandburg 63:In a game that was tied at 26 at halftime, Black Hawk's Rayven Morrow and Lauren Ickes scored 19 points each to carry the Lady Braves to the Arrowhead Conference victory.

College track & field
Vikings Patton continues to march: Augustana senior Greg Patton was named the Athlete of the Week for men's track & field in the CCIW. Patton was a double winner at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational.
It was an outstanding homecoming for Rock Island coach Grant Bramer. The Golden Warrior product, Bramer had plenty to smile about with Rocky (145) winning 8-of-12 events. Sterling (114) settled for second place, and Newman (64) rounded out the field. RI's George Pappas was a double-winner in the 200 individual medley (2:05.36) and the 100 butterfly (54.14). Josh Fleming touched first in the 500 freestyle (4:57.35) for Rocky, and Kurgan Macias had a strong showing in the 100 freestyle (53.63). John Ponsetto made quick work of the 100 backstroke (58.19), and Daniel Rodriguez finished with a win in the 50 free (22.87).
