Bettendorf Police add 2 officers to ranks

Bettendorf Police have added two new officers to its ranks.

Officer Matt Stinocher, a St. Ambrose University graduate, was sworn in on Nov. 19. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2006, after completing his college internship with Bettendorf in 2005.

In 2007, he became an Army combat medic and served in the Middle East. He now serves in the Iowa National Guard.He was a correctional officer for the Iowa Department of Corrections from 2009 to 2011 and, most recently, was a logistics specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Officer Patrick Mesick, a Bettendorf High School graduate, was sworn in on Dec. 18. He was a Bettendorf police explorer and police intern.He is scheduled to graduate this spring from Iowa State University.

Both officers attended the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston, Iowa, and will beassigned to patrol when they return, Bettendorf Police said.
