Letter: Should school shootings be compared to abortion?

Comment on this story

Abortion is the killing of innocent children in the beginning stages of life, which is very similar to what happened at the elementary school in Connecticut.

Although the method of killing is different, the lives of innocent children are taken in both. The Newtown tragedy is just as horrifying as the deaths caused by abortion daily, so why aren't people so appalled by abortion?

Over 3,000 babies are killed daily from abortion, and many people ignore it or believe that it is right. Why are so many quick to outlaw guns but not abortion clinics? The horrifying fact is that we do not recognize a shooting and abortion as the same thing -- murder.

Not only does America embrace abortion, but it masks it as a health care right that needs to be funded by our government!

I am very saddened by the deaths of the children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School, but I am also in pain for the 55 million babies America has killed by abortion.

How can the death of 20 children be considered a massacre, and the death of 3,500 unborn babies the same day be considered a choice?

Whether a child is killed inside the womb or outside, it is a horrible tragedy.
The truth is, abortion is a hidden crime that will not be shown on the nightly news, and many are unaware of the abortion massacre happening daily.
