Augustana College students will see about a $1,500 yearly increase in their school bill in the coming academic year.

The increase -- about 3.5 percent-- means the total yearly tuition, fees and room and board will increase from $43,398 to $44,937 for students, according to a college news release.

College officials attributed the increase to several factors, including compensation and benefits for faculty and staff and rising energy costs, according to the release, which also said most of the college's revenue comes from students in the form of tuition, fees and other charges.
