ALPHA — The village board Monday approved a 36-month agreement with Nordic Energy Service of Oakbrooke, to provide commercial electrical service at 4.364 cents per kilowatt hour.
The current agreement expires in October, and the new agreement will go into effect then.
Village police chief and public works director Keith Taflinger said the motor in the East No. 2 service pump, installed in 1981, shows wear and would be cheaper to replace than repair.
Repairs would cost $3,818, while a new unit would be $3,421, said Mr. Taflinger, who will do some research and report back to the board next month.
In his police chief duties, Mr. Taflinger, said five car burglaries were reported. Items taken included electronic devices and CD players."Residents need to keep their cars locked," he said.
In other business, the board learned the fire department will hold achili and potato soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the fire station.
