On Sunday at 6 p.m., ComedySportz Quad Cities and Humility of Mary Shelter will present a free evening of comedy for a cause featuring a stand-up act by founding ComedySportz member Jeff Adamson, followed by a "Half-Court" ComedySportz match. The event is at the Establishment Theatre, 220 19th St., Rock Island.

All donations will go to the Humility of Mary Shelter Inc., which provides emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing programs that offer opportunities for men and women experiencing homelessness to become emotionally, mentally and physically more stable.

The shelter's 82 beds are at capacity nearly all year round, and it costs approximately $820 a night to provide services for those individuals. Many of the shelter's necessary funds must come through private donations.

The donations raised at this Sunday fundraiser will ensure the continuation of shelter services to the homeless men and women in the area well into the future.For more information, visit humilityofmaryshelter.com.
