The Class 3A Galesburg Regional and the Class 4A UTHS Regional in boys' basketball will be taking different approaches to their semifinals.
Both will have Monday play-in games to the semis, with No. 4 seed Geneseo playing No. 5 seed Alleman in 3A and No. 4 Moline facing hosting No. 5 UTHS, both at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25.
From there, though, it takes a twist. Galesburg will play both of its semis on Tuesday, Feb. 26, with No. 1 seed Quincy Notre Dame facing the Geneseo-Alleman winner at 6, followed by No. 2 Galesburg vs. No. 3 Canton.
In 4A at UT, No. 1 Rock Island will face the Moline-UT winner at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, and the other semifinal, No. 2 Peoria Richwoods vs. No. 3 Pekin, will be played the next night on Wednesday.
Both will have their championship games on Friday, March 1, with 7:30 p.m. starts.
