The Community Health Care clinic at 708 15th Ave., East Moline, will open to patients on Monday.
Chief executive officer Tom Bowman said the clinic finally received the Medicaid certificate needed to open. Work on the clinic began last February.
The 8,000-square-foot clinic has 12 exam rooms, a lab, nursing station and offices. It offers family medicine with one full-time physician and one full-time physician's assistant, Mr. Bowman said, adding that same-day appointments and walk-ins are welcome.
"We've been working on this project for a number of years in partnership with Mayor Thodos and East Moline," Mr. Bowman said.
The $2 million project was funded in part with a federal grant resulting from the Affordable Care Act and is the seventh Community Health Care clinic in the Quad Cities.
"We'll work hard with our hospital partners to keep people out of emergency rooms, especially those in under-served communities or those with barriers to health care," Mr. Bowman said."Over 50 percent of our patients are on Medicaid. We will service anybody who needs care."
The clinic will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. A sliding-fee scale is offered for patients without health insurance, based on income level.
