Ronald L. Sneath, 58, of Milan, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial with military honors, presented by American Legion Post 569/200 and VFW Post 1303, will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Ronald was born on May 13, 1954, in Moline, a son of Paul and Betty Kane Sneath. He was a Vietnam era veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the Armored Division in Korea.
He worked at John Deere, Montgomery Elevator and later at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a member of the Milan American Legion, Rock Island Moose Lodge and Rock Island Conservation Club. He was proud of being a veteran and enjoyed volunteering his time assisting other veterans at the Bettendorf VA Clinic and driving the VA bus until his health prevented him from doing so.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting and watching old movies.
Surviving are his sister, Virginia (Oliver "Doc") Becker, Milan; brother, Larry Sneath, Coal Valley; sister-in-law, Lorna Sneath, Milan; nieces and nephews, Clifford Sneath Jr., Chris (Jim) Pace, Brian (Rebecca) Becker and Oliver Becker Jr.; great-nieces and -nephews, Tiffany, Taylor, Nate and Hailey; and great-great-niece, Kailyn.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Clifford Sneath Sr.
