Special: A Two-for-Tuesday offers $2 beers and pops at the concession stands. The Mallards also are hosting a post-game party at Davenport's Rivals Sports Bar & Grill.

Storyline: The Mallards finish off a stretch of three straight games with Bloomington. QC (20-20-5, 45 points) remains three points behind the rival Blaze (23-21-2, 48 points) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Central Hockey League. The Flock exploded for a season-best 9-6 victory at home last Friday, but fell 3-1 on the road the next night. The Mallards have 20 games left after tonight, including seven with the league scoring leaders.

News: Missouri defenseman Jesse Perrin served a one-game suspension over the weekend for the game misconduct assessed during last Tuesday's win at QC. Perrin picked up the penalty for an illegal check to the head of QC rookie Mike Stinziani. The CHL said Perrin's lack of previous discipline factored in the minimum suspension. Bloomington forward Leo Thomas also was sidelined nine games after an investigation of his actions earlier this season in the Southern Professional Hockey League. Thomas' suspension is a continuation of the penalty assessed by the SPHL, and he won't be eligible to return until Feb. 28 against QC.

Notes: Defenseman Derek Matheson left the Mallards before last weekend's series-starter with Bloomington. Matheson was placed on QC's suspended list after making a lateral move to Greensville of the Double-A ECHL. ... QC scoring leader Mickey Lang had a 12-game scoring streak snapped over the weekend. Lang had 23 points, including 10 goals, during the hot streak. ... QC's Shayne Toporowski plays the 1,000th game tonight of his 18-season pro career. The Mallards have a pre-game ceremony planned to mark the achievement.

Around the league: Arizona has hired a new coach, with 2011 CHL title-winner Scott Muscutt replacing David Lohrei, who shockingly resigned late last month. Muscutt, a playoff qualifier in 10 of his 11 CHL seasons, ranks second on the league's all-time wins list with 432 victories. ... League-leading Allen snapped a franchise-worst seven-game losing streak over the weekend.

Next: QC hosts Rapid City (Friday) and Arizona (Saturday) this weekend.
