Women entrepreneurs panel set for Feb. 21

Four local female business owners will speak at the Women's Connection's "Successful Women Entrepreneurs" Breakfast Panel from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Feb. 21, at Hotel Blackhawk, Davenport.
Stephanie Acri, Claudia Ramirez, Caroline Ruhl and Dana Wilkinson will discuss the challenges and advantages of becoming a woman business owner and give insight and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Ms. Acri became owner and president of Evans Premium Manufacturing, Rock Island in 2004. The company specializes in manufacturing cylindrical parts for equipment manufacturers and was named 2007 Quad Cities Chapter of Score "Business of the Year" and 2008 Safer Foundation "Employer of the Year."
Ms. Ramirez is owner and chief designer for Tita's Linens by Claudia, which now has locations in Davenport, Chile, Germany and Brazil. Ms. Ramirez travels internationally to speak about business development and entrepreneurship.
Ms. Ruhl has been president of Ruhl & Ruhl Realtors since 1997 and has more than doubled company revenues and expanded market reach into communities throughout the state. The company ranks 102nd of more than 8,000 real estate companies in the U.S., and Ms. Ruhl is one of only a handful of women CEOs of the nation's top 150 real estate companies.
Ms. Wilkinson started her commercial interior design business, now called Paragon Commercial Interiors, in 1983. She and her partner, Darla Evans, have expanded the business — named a "Best Place to Work" by Quad City Magazine and honored for "Excellence in Commerce by the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.
