** Nation's Only Interstate St. Patrick's Day Parade
On Saturday, March 16th, the nation's only interstate St. Patrick's Day Parade marches from Rock Island, Illinois, to Davenport, Iowa, and crosses the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. Make a weekend out of the celebration with the St. Patrick's Day Run at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, and Irish music at the River Music Experience. ** Family Museum Completes New Permanent Exhibit
At the Family Museum, 2900 Learning Campus Dr. in Bettendorf, Iowa, Phase II (of three) of the $1.3 million gallery renovation is the opening of Fox Hollow, the Town Square and Farm exhibit gallery. Fox Hollow is a friendly community where visitors can chat with a neighbor, shop for groceries, work in a garden, play in a treehouse, or wave to the mail carrier. Admission: $7. ** Art Museum Exhibit from LA Sculptor
The Figge Art Museum, 225 W. 2nd Street in downtown Davenport, Iowa, presents the work of Los Angeles-based sculptor Alison Saar. Saar, who is receiving international attention, combines bold figurative sculptures with found and repurposed objects. On display thru April 14.
