BLOOMINGTON - The Annawan girls finished their season with a win.

It wasn't the win they were hoping for, but taking home the school's first girls basketball state trophy, a 3rd place one at that is quite the accomplishment.

Annawan trailed in the fourth quarter but surged to the finish, beating Cowden-Herrick 47-37 at Redbird Arena.

Celina VanHyfte finished with a game-high 16 points to lead the Bravettes and in the process broke her own school record for most points in a season. Maddie Jackson also scored 15 points for Annawan

A welcome home part for the Bravettes will be at the high school gym tomorrow at 1 p.m.
