Robert A. Vollrath, 95, of Moline, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island.
A memorial service will be held for family members on March 3 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial was at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Robert August Vollrath was born in Barstow, on Aug. 13, 1917, to August and Emelia Schultz Vollrath. In 1940, he married Marie Fraser, who survives.
He was a graduate of United Township High School, and attended business college. He worked at John Deere Harvester Works for 20 years and then retired to become a self-employed bookkeeper.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling and was involved in the Moline Bowling Association for many years.
In addition to his wife, Marie, survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Carlander, Chicago; a son, Donald Vollrath, New Berlin, Wis.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
