1863 -- 150 years ago: We are informed that the price of coal will be 10 cents perbushel at the yards or 11 cents per bushel delivered. Coal trains will commence runningimmediately. Coal was selling for 43 to 45 cents per bushel in St. Louis last week. Thestrike among miners was the cause of the high rates.
1888 -- 125 years ago: The city last night was in total darkness for a 2-hour period due tothe failure of the Brush Electric Company's System.
