New novel released from Bettendorf author

Bettendorf author Katie Ganshert will have two upcoming book signings to celebrate the publication of her second novel "Wishing on Willows" (Waterbrook Press, a division of Random House, to be published Tuesday) that continues the story in her debut novel "Wildflowers from Winter."
The story concerns Robin Price as she deals with a three-year old son, a struggling Iowa café, and fading memories of her late husband. Ms. Ganshert explores if second chances at life and love always involve surrender.
She will sign copies of the book Saturday, March 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Books-A-Million,4000 East 53rd St.,Davenport, and Friday, April 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dunn Brothers, 787 Middle Road, Bettendorf.
Ms. Ganshert also will discuss her journey toward publication and the quirks, challenges and rewards of an author's life at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Bettendorf Public Library.She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in education and worked as a fifth-grade teacher for several years before staying home to write full-time. She was born and raised in Bettendorf where she lives with her husband and their young son.
