Comment on this story

A 4-year-old Davenport boy is in University Hospitals in Iowa City after the dirt bike he was driving collided with a car in the 2900 block of North Harrison Street about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

A 2013 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Daniel Dalton, of Matherville, was southbound on Harrison when a 50cc dirt bike driven by the 4-year-old rode out of the alley south of 30th Street and collided with the front driver's side of the Camaro.

The motorcyclist was transported to Genesis East Hospital by Medic and later transferred to Iowa City Hospitals by Med Force for what ER doctors describe as head and spinal injuries and a fractured right leg.

The last update was that the motorcyclist was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No other information was available. The investigation is continuing.
