Moline man killed in Davenport accident

Davenport police have identified the Moline man killed in an accident Monday night.

Davenport police were dispatched to a three-vehicle accident in the 1800 block of East 53rd Street shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to a news release.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Ryan Ball, 23, was eastbound in the north lane in the 1800 block of East 53rd Street when it hit the left rear of a Honda Accord, crossed the center line and struck a westbound Ford 150.

Mr. Ball was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in his vehicle.  

The driver of the Honda, Monica Forret, 47, of Davenport, refused treatment. The driver of the F150, Wenhua Guo, 44, of Davenport, and a passenger, Di Zhang, 30, of Davenport, were transported by Medic to Genesis East Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

No other information is available. The investigation is continuing.
