Ronald J. "Ron" Maring, 72, of Annawan, died on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
In accordance with his wishes, all services will be private. Interment will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.
Ron was born on Dec. 31, 1940, in Fulton, the son of Clyde L. and Evelyn L. Hansen Maring. He received his education in the Rock Island school system, graduating from Rock Island High School in 1958.
Ron began his career with International Harvester Company in January 1959, at the Farmall Plant. He progressed through numerous salaried and managerial positions and was relocated on several occasions. He held positions at the East Moline plant, World Headquarters in Chicago, the Springfield Ohio Truck Assembly Plant and Truck Division of Manufacturing Support Center in Springfield, Ohio. He retired in January 1996, after 37 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include a son, Andrew Mark Maring, Crossville, Tenn.; daughter, Kimberly (Tim) Hicks, Mountain View, Ark.; special nephew and niece, Brian and Verlanda DeLaPort, Nowata, Okla.; special niece and nephew, Cynthia and Ezell Thompson, Geneseo; special brother and devoted friends, Trond Adams and family, Rock Island; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. His parents; and a son, Ryan James Maring, preceded Mr. Maring in death.
