Mike Stinziani missed joining linemate Mike Hellyer on the CHL's All-Rookie team last week. However, the Quad City Mallards "other'' first-year forward picked up a different honor Tuesday, named the Double-A circuit's Second Star of March.

Stinziani scored seven goals and 12 points to help propel the Flock to the playoffs with five straight wins and a league-best 11-0-2 regular-season mark this month.

The 23-year-old Canadian joins teammates Mickey Lang (February) and John Murray (November) in earning one of the monthly Three Star awards this season.

The monthly award is the culmination of the leaguewide media voting for Three Star honors after each game.

Stinziani earned 18 points in March for a trio of post-game firsts and a second. Arizona newcomer Kevin Baker earned March's First Star honors with 19 points. The month's Third Star with 17 points was Missouri's Kenton Miller, the CHL's reigning Player of the Week.
