Margaret "Peggy" Bessee, 67, of Moline, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A, Moline, with an Altar and Rosary Society rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to Alleman High School, Sacred Heart Church or BVM Order of Dubuque.
Peggy was born Feb. 17, 1946, in Moline, the daughter of Richard and Jean Cullison Sprung. She married Bill Bessee on Jan. 16, 1965, at Sacred Heart Church in Moline.
Peggy was a 1964 graduate of Alleman High School. She retired from Hansen Larsen Dentistry, Moline.
Peggy was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, the Altar and Rosary Society, and she was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. She enjoyed her dinners with the girls of 64 Club, Sacred Heart Bible Study and Eucharistic Adoration. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter, Melissa Meier, Milan; sons, Scott (Teresa) Bessee, New Windsor, and Michael Bessee (Caradox Kinomiya), Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Erica Bessee, Rachel Meier and Emily Meier; great-grandson, Alex Kincaid; sister, Betty (Richard) Heaton, Boise, Idaho; brothers, Robert (Dottie) Sprung, Cottondale, Ala., and Richard (Pat) Sprung, Columbus, Ga.; two aunts, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Bob (Nancy) Bessee, Colona; sister in-law, Dorothy Sprung, East Moline; and her very best friend, Hallie "Buttons" Cowart, Coal Valley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Sprung.
