Frances E. "Liz" Lerminez, 91, of Moline, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Entombment is at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Seton Catholic School or Alleman High School.
Frances was born Feb. 18, 1922, in Davenport, the daughter of Elmer L. and Frances A. McCale Cary. She married Henry "Hank" Lerminez on Nov. 28, 1946, at St. Paul's Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2001.
Liz graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport. She was a past member of Delta Eta Chapter, Sigma Fi Gamma Sorority and attended business college in Davenport.
Liz was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, where she had been very active, the Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society, Pastoral Care, the National Catholic Order of Foresters, Sacred Heart Ct. 1563 and Short Hills Country Club.
Survivors include her son, Paul, Coal Valley, and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Godwin, Moline; grandchildren, Matthew, (fiancee, Jessica Hughbanks), Daniel and Nichole; great-grandson, Jace Henry; sister, Patricia Hauert and spouse Bob, Naperville, Ill.; many nieces and nephews, Daniel Barrett, Chatham, Mass., David Barrett, Southport, Conn., Barbara Barrett-Halajian, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Anne Barrett, Oswego, Ill., Danette (Cary) Weber, Bettendorf, Rick Cary, Arizona, and Kevin Cary, Bettendorf; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
