Quad City Flutes Unlimited will present a 30th anniversary concert Friday, including the premiere of a new flute choir composition commissioned in honor of the occasion.

In 1983, Janet Stodd, an Augustana graduate and flutist, enlisted eight other friends and flutists to play music arranged for flutes only. Today, Quad City Flutes Unlimited is comprised of over 20 volunteer performers, including four of the original group.

Directed by Mary Kae Waytenick, it has played for the Chicagoland Flute Festival, Figge Art Museum, Friends of Chamber Music, Festival of Trees, Quad City Mozart Festival and with the Western Illinois University Flute Choir and Augustana College Flute Choir. For more information, visit qcflutesunlimited.yolasite.com.
