1888 — 125 years ago: The high mark of 18.6 feet above low water stage was reached by the Mississippi river yesterday, but the flood appears to be receding. A 5-inch fall was recorded at Dubuque.
1913 — 100 years ago: Rock Island high school's orchestra gave a successful concert last night in the school auditorium.
1963 — 50 years ago: The annual Camp Hauberg work day will be held next Sunday at the YMCA camp at Port Byron. Raking, staining of buildings, minor building repairs and electrical work remain to be done.
