MOLINE -- Two people were taken to the hospital after two cars collided at the intersection of 6th Ave. and 19th St. Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Tim DeVrieze of the Moline Police Department said witnesses told him a BMW was traveling south on 19th Street when it ran a red light, colliding with an east-bound Saturn.
Airbags in both cars deployed.

Tar Macias called 911 at 1:25 pm when he heard the crash while inside a nearby restaurant.

Sgt. DeVrieze said the investigation is continuing.

Family members of the BMW driver arrived on the scene after the woman had been transported by ambulance.
