1888 -- 125 years ago: The Milan street car line will run 40 cars to Watch Tower Park.
1913 -- 100 years ago: Earl Chalk of Rock Island high school placed first in the half-milerun at the state track meet in Urbana this afternoon. Claude Kipp, also of Rock Island,was fourth in the quarter mile.
