1888 -- 125 years ago: Harry Sage, of Rock Island, was catcher for the all-American baseball team in a game with the Chicagos at Des Moines.
1913 -- 100 years ago: Mrs. F.W. Bahsen, of Rock Island, has been chosen vice regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution for Illinois.
1938 -- 75 years ago: After two tie votes at Augustana College, it was decided to allow both Ruth Robinson and Alice Lindstrom, of Rock Island, to serve as Vi-Queens for the annual homecoming.
