Activities will be held at the Moline Public Library, 3210 41st St. Moline. For information or to register at 309-524-2461.
Exploratorium -- 1:30 to 4 p.m., Every Wednesday after school. Drop in after school for a different type of activity each week. Explore, discover and have fun.
Brilliant Companions -- 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 3. The Brilliant Companions, a BBC Sci-Fi fan club, will meet on Monday, March 3 at 6:30 at the Moline Public Library. We will be discussing the second half of Doctor Who, season six. This club is open to all ages.
Tween Book Club -- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4. New program for 3rd-5th graders. Join us for book discussion, activities and crafts, book recommendations, and snacks. A limited number of books are available for check-out at the children's information desk.
Teen Advisory Group -- 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6. This is a chance to offer suggestions about programs and materials for teens. Open to anyone in grades 6-12.
Bookmarks Book Club -- 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 11. New program for 1st-3rd graders. Join us for book discussion, activities and crafts, and snacks. A limited number of books are available at the children's information desk.
Anime Club -- 3:30 p.m., March 11. For teens and young adults ages 12-21 who love Anime, Manga, and all things Japanese. Enjoy Japanese snacks or bring your own to share. Bring your old anime and manga for an exchange. Free. No registration necessary.
Reader's Theater -- 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12. Join us for folk tales, fairy tales and stories in script form read by young readers. Call the library to be a reader. No registration required to be in the audience.
George Burns Alive and In Concert: a One-Man Show -- 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. Actor Duffy Hudson will perform his musical, comedy one-man show as the persona of George Burns for the entire family. George Burns will sing, dance and tell stories like only George Burns can. Open to all ages. Building With Books Lego Club -- 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 20. Build with Lego blocks and listen to stories. Blocks are supplied. For ages 4-12. Registration not required.
Pajama Storytime -- 7 p.m., Monday, March 24. Wear your p.j.'s and bring your favorite stuffed animal to hear new stories. Bring the family. Recommended for ages 4-8. Registration not required.
Meet Willy Wonka and Charlie -- 2 p.m., Saturday, March 29. Quad City Music Guild performers will present a song from their Willy Wonka performance. Crafts and activities will follow until 4 p.m. For all ages. Sponsored by the Quad City Music Guild and the Friends of the Moline Public Library.
Teen Poetry Contest -- April 1-April 19 Poetry Contest for students in grades 6 through 12. Students can enter one original poem of up to 20 lines. Prizes are gift cards of $25 for first place, $15 for second place, and $10 for third place. Entries are due April 19, 2014. Visit the library to get an entry form or print one out at
