So dinner was great post-marathon. We ate @ JJ Foleys bar (honoring my buddy Jen Foley). From there we went to the Black Rose bar and had a few drinks. One last laugh with our group.
Now we are headed home to bed and we fly out @ 6 am.
Good night from Boston! Thanks to all of my friends for their support and thanks to all of you for following along with me to give you a participants look at the biggest race in the world!
Take care! Good luck to all of you in your endeavors!

WOO HOO!! I finished Boston. I did a 3:53:42! Kathy ran a 3:32, Tracy ran a 3:36, Terrie ran a 3:34 and Brent did a WONDERFUL JOB PACING ME….finishing 3:51.
I BEAT BILL RODGERS!! See Bill and I, 2 years ago at Bix, competed and he beat me!! So this is cool. I saw him on the course at about mile 11 and we chatted and took pictures.
Then at Mile 21 … the FAMOUS HEARTBREAK HILL … I passed him as he was kind of struggling. After falling off my pace that I wanted in the hills, I thought, “I just want to beat Bill Rodgers.”
So, now we are showered at a hotel in Boston and we are heading out for post-race food and fun. I craved a Fanta Grape soda and now I have it.
So, I tell this to anyone who wants to do BOSTON — it is AWESOME!!!
More later!!

Here I am in Hopkinton, Mass. for the 113th running of the Boston Marathon!
In front of me a long line of runners wait for the best part of the marathon. A MASSAGE. Oh yeah!!
All around me people sit on garbage bags in hats and gloves awaiting the call for the first wave of runners. With 25,000 qualifiers they break the field into two halves.
“Coldplay” is blaring over the speaker and water and Gatorade Endurance are flowing. I lay here listening to Rob Zombie stretching and mentally preparing. Woo hoo!!

SO, it has been advised by many marathon runners (and I know a lot of GOOOODDD marathon runners) that 2 nights before the race one should get a good nights sleep. Â I am hoping that maybe that will propel me to a sub 3:40 marathon tomorrow here in Boston.
