1887 -- 125 years ago: A. M. Hubbard, of Moline, yesterday was elected president of the Rock Island County Old Settlers Society.
1912 -- 100 years ago: The Men's Club of Trinity Episcopal Church will present a minstrel at the Illinois Theater on Feb. 15.
1937 -- 75 years ago: Thomas P. Sinnett, of Rock Island, former state legislator, has been named president of the newly organized Quad-City Illini Club.
1962 -- 50 years ago: Lie-detector tests are scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday for about a half-dozen people in the investigation of a shortage in the Rock Island County Clerk's Office. It was indicated today that all people concerned, including the discharged chief deputy clerk, will take the tests willingly.
1987 -- 25 years ago: The late Doris Dammann Day, former chairman of Bear Manufacturing Inc., Rock Island, has bequeathed $10 million from her estate to a nonprofit foundation in her and her husband's name. Mrs. Day, who died Jan. 20 at age 79, left nearly her entire estate to the Doris and Victor Day Foundation Inc. to be used for charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational projects.
