Niabi Zoo, 13010 Niabi Zoo Road, Coal Valley, is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 150 species. The zoo also offers a playground, train and carousel rides, classes, gift shop, picnic areas, and concessions. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $5; $4.50 for ages 62 and up, $4 for ages 3-17; free for members and ages 2 and under. Admission is half price every Tuesday. Free days are Apr. 13-17, Apr. 26, May 10, June 21, July 5, Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25. Call (309) 799-5107 or email for details.
