As morning temperatures stayed below zero, steam rises from open water beneath the Centennial Bridge. A record 21 below zero was set Wednesday as daytime highs stay in the single digits or below zero - February 1, 1996.

Dozens of bald eagles can be seen at this time of year below the locks and dams along the Mississippi River. This eagle was spotted at Lock and Dam 14 near Pleasant Valley. The eagles soar above the open water in search of fish that surface below the dams. This eagle is enjoying his freshly caught prey. - January 3, 1996.
