Midland Digital Color is being reabsorbed by its parent company, Midland Press Corp. of Davenport, as a result of the increased demand for color publications, company officials announced this week.
The move should be completed by Nov. 1.
Joining the two companies will take advantage of Midland Press' operational expertise in project coordination, planning, finishing and distribution. By year's end, color publishing will become Midland Press' third largest business segment behind black-and-white publication production and electronic printing.
Midland Press Corp. will continue to service the color publishing needs of its existing Midland Digital Color customers. The combined customer base can expect to see significant advantages as the company positions itself for rapid growth through the end of the century.
Midland Digital Color was founded in July 1996 as a research and development project which grew into a separate digital printing firm. Midland Press Corp. is an information distribution company dedicated to providing a wide range of printing, distribution, electronic publishing and document management services.
