1887 -- 125 years ago: Memorial windows of Mr. and Mrs. William Channon and Elbert Sammis will be unveiled tomorrow night at Trinity Episcopal Church.

1912 -- 100 years ago: Mary Platt, for 17 years principal of Lincoln Grade School, was honored today at a farewell reception.

1937 -- 75 years ago: The Rock River is now 2 feet above flood stage at the airport bridge and rising slowly. A crest of 14.5 feet is expected tomorrow.

1962 -- 50 years ago: Dale Doty, of Bettendorf, is $198 richer today because he pursues his hobby diligently. Doty's hobby is hunting. In the winter it is fox hunting. Today, Mr. Doty collected $198 bounty on the 66 foxes he has shot this winter.

1987 -- 25 years ago: Heritage skills will be the focus of the Rock Island County Homemakers Extension Awareness Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Deere-Wiman House, 817 11th Ave., Moline.
