DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- With just the right blend of cinnamon, caramel and pecans, a Des Moines woman took home the largest food prize ever at the Iowa State Fair.

Mary Johnson won a $3,000 cinnamon roll contest sponsored by Ankeny-based Tone's spices, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Johnson, whose cooking has won boxes full of ribbons at previous fairs, entered caramel-frosted rolls that were drizzled with more caramel and pecans on top.

``All of my kids have my recipe, and none of theirs come out the same way,'' she said. ``If anyone asks me for a recipe, I give it to them.''

Relatives have learned to visit Johnson at fair time, because she makes extra rolls and the family gets the leftovers.
