DAVENPORT -- A second eaglet hatched early Monday under the watchful eye of Alcoa's EagleCam.
It came about two days after a sibling hatched late Saturday afternoon, Alcoa community relations manager John Riches said.
At one point Saturday afternoon, 1,300 people were online at alcoa.com/locations/usa_davenport/en/info_page/eaglecam.asp to watch the nest of Liberty and Justice.
The EagleCam has been rated one of the top 25 most interesting webcams in the country, according to earthcam.com. It registered more than 12 million hits in 2012, and was viewed in more than 80 countries.
Names for the new eaglets are being sought, and can be suggested for another day or two, before the list gets trimmed down and voted on, Mr, Riches said. More than 1,000 names have been suggested so far.
Liberty and Justice built the 7-foot nest in 2009 and fledged the first two eaglets in the spring of 2010.
