1913 — 100 years ago: The coliseum at the corner of 4th St. between 7th and Myrtle streets in Davenport was destroyed by fire. The loss is estimated at $40,000.
1938 — 75 years ago: Paving of 38th and 11th avenues out of the city's share of state gas taxes was approved last night by the City Council.
1963 — 50 years ago: Plans have been formulated for the 100th anniversary celebration of the First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo, next weekend. The celebration will be opened with a banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening. Following the meal, Howard Moburg will read a review of the church's history in an original narrative written by Miss Elsie Hamilton.
